Kelowna's downtown beach, the busiest stretch of sand in the city's largest waterfront park.

Hot Sands is the main sandy beach of City Park, the waterfront park at the foot of downtown Kelowna next to the William R. Bennett Bridge. The park around it has a waterpark, skatepark, playground and courts, and hosts free Parks Alive! concerts in summer. It is central, busy and easy to reach on foot from downtown.

Lately

  • City closed the City Park waterfront pathway between the Cold Sands washroom and the Bernard Avenue entrance for upgrades; the rest of the park stayed open.
  • Pathway reopened ahead of the May long weekend. Work included a new park entry sign, improved water access near Cenotaph Plaza, foreshore upgrades and relocation of the dog beach.
